- VEICHI Begins Rectifier Production for Sinopec Green Hydrogen Project
On July 20, VEICHI hosted the manufacturing kick-off meeting in Suzhou for the rectifier system of Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield’s fully localized 1,000 Nm³/h dual-stack proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis hydrogen production demonstration project. More than ten representatives attended the meeting, including Yu Shuhai, Senior Electrical Supervisor at Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield’s Oil and Gas Processing Technical Service Center; Wan Zehong, Senior Electrical Engineer at Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering Co., Ltd.; Wang Yihe, Electrical Engineer at Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield’s Oil and Gas Processing Technical Service Center; Luo Peng, Vice President of VEICHI; He Chengzeng, Deputy Director of VEICHI’s R&D Center; Li Yuguang, Director of the High-End Equipment Business Unit; as well as key project team members and supplier representatives.

As China's first fully domestically developed kiloton-scale PEM hydrogen production industrial demonstration project, the initiative is also listed as a key scientific innovation project of Sinopec. By bringing together leading partners across the industrial chain, the project aims to establish a complete and independently controllable green hydrogen industrial application system, providing a scalable solution for the development of China’s green hydrogen industry.
The project’s IGBT-based hydrogen power supply system requires the integration of multiple critical components, including rectifiers, transformers, high- and low-voltage cabinets, and monitoring systems. With complex equipment coordination and strict space constraints, the system integration presents significant technical challenges. VEICHI successfully secured the supply contract for the project’s integrated power solution, marking an important milestone in the company’s continued expansion in the hydrogen energy sector. Moving forward, VEICHI will mobilize its resources, implement rigorous quality control, and closely manage every stage of the project—from design and production to pilot manufacturing, system testing, and final delivery—to ensure high-quality, on-schedule commissioning.
The successful launch of the production phase lays a solid foundation for the manufacturing and delivery of the hydrogen power supply system, a key component of Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield’s PEM hydrogen production demonstration project. Looking ahead, VEICHI will continue to advance its presence in green energy applications, leveraging reliable power electronics technologies and system integration expertise to support the growth of the hydrogen industry and contribute to the transition toward a cleaner energy future.
