Project Introduction
In June 2024, the SI4VP6-135-110-1500 solar well water pump system was successfully installed for agricultural irrigation in Tunisia.
The Challenge:
The problem of energy and water sources is one of the most important issues many countries are faced with. Around more than 30% agricultural pumps are not available to connect with grid electricity due to poor power facilities. And 50% farms cannot get well irrigated because of poor water conservancy infrastructure. Nowadays the cost of diesel is rapidly increasing,so the cost of maintenance on diesel generator pump system is very high. It is urgent and important to find a sustainable way for agricultural irrigation
The Solution:
Solar powered water pump technology is a very good solution to agricultural irrigation. The system consists of 4 inch 2 horsepower solar water pump and provides 6 cu.m./hr water for irrigation.

The Result:
This project utilizes solar pumps that are characterized by their 4-inch size and 2 horsepower, which is equivalent to 1500 watts. These pumps operate at 110 volts and are designed to deliver a water volume of up to 6 cubic meters per hour. They are engineered to work efficiently with a water pump head of 135 meters and are compatible with 4-inch wells, including a 1.25-inch delivery pipe. These solar pumps ensure continuous and consistent water delivery, even under conditions of low sunlight, providing a reliable water supply solution.
