Project Introduction
Waterweys, is a local EPC company based in Mwanza, Tanzania, specializing in water treatment projects. They operate local warehouses and workshops, serving Mwanza and neighboring towns.
The challenge:
They needed to provide a stable water supply for a municipality of 2,000 residents. The project involves one 110kW pump and two 55kW pumps. Currently, the 110kW pump is running with the SI23 inverter. Additional SI23 units will be purchased for the two remaining 55kW pumps.
The solution:
They adopted the SI23-T3-132G-C solar pump inverter with cabinet. The municipality is situated in a mountainous area, with the water source located at the summit. The SI23’s deceleration stop function provides superior pump protection. The current power source is the grid, but solar arrays will be added to enable hybrid AC/DC input.
Project Products:
Solar Pump Controller:
Drive Brand /Model:VEICHI / SI23-T3-132G-C
Rated Power/Current: 132kW/250A
Rated Output: 380VAC 3 Phase
Input Voltage Range: 350VDC –780VDC
The result:
Once hybrid AC/DC input is in place, long-term operational costs are projected to decrease by 60%, with increased system stability and efficiency. The deceleration stop function ensures better protection for the water pumps.
Customer feedback:
They are highly satisfied with the SI23’s deceleration stop feature and hybrid input capabilities. They plan to install two more SI23 systems in the short term and aim to upgrade the water systems in nine more municipalities in the future.
